Pamela Plaintiff is an African-American computer technician who works for Tech-Co. She complains to her supervisor of computer software copyright violations by Company personnel. Soon thereafter, Pam’s supervisor calls her into the office, states “we do not need any whining ethnic snitches working here,” and terminates her employment. Pamela subsequently seeks treatment with a psychologist, who diagnoses her with depression and a severe anxiety disorder.
