The “War on Drugs” dates back to the 1970s and was initiated under President Nixon. Drug networks had become global by that time from Latin America to the Asian continent. For this week’s individual work, please complete the following:

• Compare the national drug data that is published by the United States Department of Justice and the DEA to those of your own state. The website for the national data is http://www.justice.gov/dea/. You will need to research to locate the data from your own state.
• Summarize your findings in police report type form, research examples if needed, and share your opinion of the effectiveness of drug prohibition by the nation and your own state.

For citation guidelines, please refer to the table in the APA Style section of the syllabus.
