The essay is entitled, “How my field experience has changed me for good.”

My field experience was me interning at the VA Clinic-Jackson. This essay has to be a minimal of 1-2 pages. Complete sentences and proper grammar. I will provide personal information about my internship placement and some personal information that can be used in the essay.

My internship: With the HUD/VASH (Housing and Urban Development-Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing) social worker. This program which is a collaboration between HUD and VA which combines HUD housing vouchers with VA supportive services to help veterans who are with no homes and their families to find and sustain permanent housing.

On a personal basis, my father passed away on December 15, 2018. He was a Navy veteran and provider for a family of 8 children. I begin interning at the VA July 2018 and had no idea what God was setting up in my life. I could not imagine that after 5 months of interning at the VA that my father would pass suddenly. God knew exactly would to do. I believe he placed me at the VA for a reason and with my dad being a veteran himself helped me put services into place for not only me but my family as well. I love the VA and the work environment. I was able to work in a pod with not only 2 social workers but doctors and nurses. This has prepared me when working as a professional team to meet the needs of all of our veterans.
