As we briefly discussed, Sinclair owns or operates close to 200 local TV news stations around the country. The link below to an article in Deadspin includes a script, on the dangers of “fake news,” read by many Sinclair stations across the country last year. It is an example of “must run” content that Sinclair forces its stations to broadcast. View the video via the link below, read the article by Vox packaged with the video, as well as the Seattle Times article linked below about the reaction to Sinclair’s demands by employees at KOMO-TV, a local Sinclair-owned station. Then answer the following:
- What do you think the main issue is here, and why are so many people upset about it?
