Alan Moore’s The Watchmen presents us with many interesting ethical dilemmas. There is one specifically at the end that I wish us to focus our discussion on, as it beautifully embodies a few of the ethical theories we have approached so far.

What I would like you to do is to analyze the stances that the characters take on the disaster that happens at the end. How do the ethical theories we have studied embody themselves in the characters? I am requiring that you analyze at least two of their reactions, and remember to discuss who represents which theory and why; what are their arguments for what should be done and how does it map onto each ethical theory?

And finally spend a bit of time discussing if you think the end action was justified or not. Which theory did you find most convincing in relation to the end situation in Watchmen? Why?

when writing the paper please do not give me a synopsis/ a play by play of what happened in the film.

Introduce the scenario of what happened, maybe give a short background and that is it (so no more than a paragraph on that)

if you are seeking an A really dive into how your chosen character demonstrates the ethical theory.

and definitely go into which ethical theory best helps to justify your position on the disaster at the end
