Classmate’s reasponse ( When reflecting on what I have learned in ARH 252 this semester, I immediately thought back on the discussion about King Tut in Module 3. As stated in the discussion prompt, King Tut is very well known within pop culture. However, Tutankhamen was a relatively unknown pharaoh and his present fame is mostly due to the 1922 discovery of his tomb and its pristine condition. I believe this is a great example of a misrepresented narrative, much like that of Pepin as the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Many people most likely believe that King Tut was an extremely powerful and influential pharaoh, however, in reality, he was not that important during the time he was in power. The discovery of his beautiful tomb has contributed to a false interpretation of his status and history.)
