Your submission for this first segment of your SLP work is to address each of the following items—per each of the three selected studies:

1. Overview of study—to include the purpose of study, the research setting, research methods employed, and finally, the results of the study.
2. Per the above overview – state the primary RQ that guided each study.
3. Indicate the type of RQ—descriptive, correlational, or causal?

Please make sure that your work is in line with each of the following expectations:

• Did you retrieve your 3 studies via the ProQuest database?
• Is each study from a peer-reviewed research journal—dating back no more than 5 years?
• Does your overview of each study address each of the items specified above AND additional aspects of each study relevant to the type of RQ identified?
• Is your essay 3-5 pages in length?
• Is your work in its entirety APA formatted?

Our Session Long Project for this course is going to give you the opportunity to become familiar with the peer-reviewed research in an area of education/educational leadership (or closely related) that is of interest to you. Toward this end, you will be using the ProQuest database to search the peer-reviewed research for studies that are of interest to you—in conjunction with the specifications for each modular segment of our SLP work. Each SLP segment submission will include a brief overview of the pertinent items of each study—followed by the identification of particular aspects of each study per the focus of the corresponding module—as SPECIFIED via the directives and expectations listed on the SLP page of each module.

STUDY SELECTION In accordance with our focus in this first module, this first segment of our SLP work will entail the selection of three research studies retrieved via the ProQuest database—each of which MUST be from peer-reviewed research journals only. In accordance with our focus in this first module—we want to select one study that centers around a descriptive type of RQ, one study that centers around a correlational type of RQ, and one study that centers around a causal type of RQ. (i.e., 1 study per type of RQ).
