Duties: Oversees daily activities of the computer laboratories in the Earl S. Richardson Library; provides technical support to the Library’s Information Technology Division; maintains laboratory equipment and supplies, which may include troubleshooting both hardware and software problems; provides assistance to lab users, including special needs and the physically challenged; provides basic application software support; orients new users to lab users to lab rules and operating procedures;  makes appropriate recommendations for repairs; trains and supervises student lab assistants; assesses the need for laboratory upgrades and recommends purchases of hardware and software; maintains record of services and lab usage for assessment and planning; participates in the development of policies and procedures to ensure efficient lab operations and quality service; recommends technical and physical changes to enhance the lab; suggests changes to work schedules to ensure coverage; promotes the services available in the computer lab; assists students, faculty, and staff users regarding software and hardware applications; coordinates and performs software installations, diagnostics and repairs; keeps current on latest computer technology; enters and maintains instructional lab reservations for academic classes and training; and performs other duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; Three (3) years of experience working with students in a computer lab, involving hardware and software troubleshooting and maintenance.
Requirements:   Knowledge of computers; knowledge of computer software and hardware used in computer labs; knowledge of operation systems; ability to  troubleshoot hardware and software problems; ability to adopt to the needs of a constantly changing student population; ability to set priorities and meet timelines; ability to communicate effectively; ability to multi-task.
