Letter to the Judge.

There are occasions when you may find it pertinent to write a letter to a judge. You may believe that what you have to say can impact how a judge approaches the task of sentencing someone who you know. Knowing what to include in your letter and how to say it can determine how effective the letter ends up being. That why it very important to format the letter properly and make sure that the content of the letter is effective and not detrimental to the defendant case.  In this assignment you will be writing a letter to a judge for an inmate that been incarcerated for 9 years and 11 months. The inmate was sentence to do 12 years on an “Armed Robbery Charge”. In the State of Georgia the law require that you must serve the minimum sentence of 10 years in order to be eligible for parole, the inmate is approaching on his tenth year.  In this letter you will be asking the judge to reduce inmate sentence and the possibility of an early release consideration for the inmate that been incarcerated for over 9 years. Write a 1 page letter to the judge to help the judge to take consideration in releasing the inmate on his tenth year bid. You will use the information below in your letter about the inmate to help you write a professional letter to the judge. You want to include good things about the inmate, yourself and why do you think the inmate deserve to be release and how he would be good for this society.
